ZOLL’s EMS clinical support team provides clinical assistance to our business partners and customers. Independent of our sales team, the clinical support team’s primary objective is to demonstrate the clinical differentiation of ZOLL® products through education and by working with healthcare professionals in their own environment.

Our clinical support specialists are here to improve healthcare outcomes, not to increase sales; all the members of the clinical support team have clinical backgrounds. The team comprises doctors, specialists, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and resuscitation officers. The team administers a number of clinical support programmes.

The clinical support team includes:

  • Jamie Cooke, Clinical Support Manager (EMAR and Latin America)
  • Curtis Young, Clinical Support Specialist (U.K. and Military EMEA)
  • Ralf Milberg, Clinical Support Specialist (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland)
  • Monica Cossio, Clinical Support Specialist (Latin America)
  • Almudena Puig Moneo, Clinical Support Specialist (Southern Europe)
  • Anas Mansi, Clinical Support Specialist (Middle East and Africa)
  • Auke van der Wal, Clinical Support Specialist (Benelux and Nordics)
  • Neal Parkes, Clinical Support Specialist (UK and French speaking parts of EMEA and Latin America)

The Outcomes Workshop can help you and your team sharpen your skills, so you are better prepared for the next emergency. Along with early defibrillation, high-quality CPR is one of the most important interventions during cardiac arrest. However this life-saving skill is often performed sub-optimally—and rarely measured. The one-day CPR Advantage programme will cultivate and enhance a culture of high-quality CPR within services currently using ZOLL X Series® defibrillators with CPR feedback. Learn more.

The half-day Data & Analytics programme provides comprehensive training on the importance of resuscitation data collection, review, and debriefing, and it explores the practical benefits of incorporating retrospective data analysis into clinical resuscitation practice. Learn more.

Frequent Ask Questions

Why should I partake in a clinical programme?

There is NO financial investment; each clinical programme is free of charge. The only investment is the participants' time. For this investment of time you'll get insight to the resuscitation quality of your staff (EMS Roadways or Pathways). Workshops and masterclasses provide you with opportunities to share experiences with leading professionals in your field. Our data courses (CPR Advantage and Data & Analytics) gives you the opportunity to experience what data can do for you to ultimately improve healthcare outcomes.

What do I need to do?

If you would like to partake in a clinical programme, a clinical support specialist will contact you to discuss your expectations and programme logistics. The CSS will run the complete project and discuss what is needed to make it a success (participants, room, dates, times, etc.).

Are the clinical programmes tailored to my needs?

Once a clinical programme is agreed on, you’ll be contacted by one of our clinical support specialists. They will determine if the suggested programme is the best for you and set the objectives. Some clinical programmes follow a set agenda. For others, we’ll discuss what you want from the event and tailor the agenda to your needs, allowing you to get the most out of the clinical programme selected.

Is there an obligation to buy ZOLL after the programme?

Absolutely not. Agreeing to do a clinical programme simply allows us to help you answer any questions you may have, for example: What is the CPR quality of my staff? How can I improve my CPR quality? How can we improve survival from cardiac arrest? How can data help improve healthcare outcomes?

Whether you are satisfied ZOLL user, or you use another manufacturer’s devices, you are not committing to buy anything.

How many participants can join a clinical programme?

The number of participants depends on the clinical programme, for example for a Pathways programme you'll need at around 25 participants in order to have enough data to be representative; there is no maximum number of participants. For data courses there are no restrictions for number of candidates. Masterclasses and workshops range from 10 to 100 participants.

What do I need to prepare?

Preparation depends on the clinical programme. A Pathways/EMS Roadways programme requires two separate areas, while a masterclass can be done outside your hospital or EMS service. A clinical support specialist will be happy to discuss these preparation requirements with you.

How long will a clinical programme take?

Usually a clinical programme will require just a single day, though there are minor differences among programmes. Most clinical programmes are flexible, so we can adjust times to your specific needs. For example, we can do a few hours per day over a week if necessary. Please reach out to your local clinical support specialist to learn more about time requirements.

Can clinical programmes be done remotely?

In today’s world, everything can be done remotely! There may be some changes needed to maximise a programmes potential, but it’s certainly possible. All of the programmes detailed here have a remote alternative and the outcomes are the same. If you want something more bespoke, just contact your local clinical support specialist.

Testimonials

Here’s what participants are saying about our clinical programmes:

Pathways, UK

The Pathways programme we did with ZOLL was much more than we expected. There was no obligation and certainly no pressure from anyone else from ZOLL. The clinical team’s independence from the sales team makes this unique and very clinically focused. We are so impressed by the programme, we published a poster post event and are actively working towards widespread use of CPR electrodes in the hospital.

Hospital Masterclass in Spain

I was greatly surprised. The topics presented were very interesting, and all the data shared — even being an ALS instructor and knowing the importance of a HQ CPR — helps you to reinforce your knowledge and gives you strong arguments to transmit this importance to others.

The speakers were excellent and the benchmarking part very interesting. I believe that demonstrating in situ that using CPR feedback makes your CPR quality to improve, makes bigger the impact of the Masterclass.

Definitely, I would recommend my colleagues to attend your Masterclass.

EMS Roadways, Nordics

For the EMS Roadway, we asked our most experienced trainers; we expect to achieve great results. The EMS Roadways made us realize that only with data we can measure our results. This EMS Roadways was a great tool to let us experience how powerful data can be. We would recommend this for other services as well.
