ZOLL Canada Helps Sponsor Toronto Heart and Stroke Bicycle Ride
June 10, 2011 -ZOLL Canada was one of the key sponsors of the Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart that took place in downtown Toronto on June 5. Over 13,000 bicyclists participated in the annual fundraising event to fight heart disease in Ontario. Participants rode traffic-free against a backdrop of the CN Tower and the Toronto cityscape as two main highways were closed off for the morning ride.
This year, ZOLL’s EMS/PAD Challenge attracted 72 riders and 11 teams from a variety of Ontario EMS organizations and community PAD programs. In return for their participation, ZOLL made a contribution to each team’s Heart & Stroke fundraising efforts. The Pedal Angels, 19 cyclists representing Niagara EMS, all donned angel wings and mounted halos on the helmets on their ride for the cause. Team ZOLL, composed of ZOLL employees, raised $5,600 at the event.
