American Heart Month Heroes
This month we're going to feature some heroes in the fight agains sudden cardiac arrest. Here in Massachusetts, several schools and public buildings received automated external defibrillators (AEDs) this past fall thanks to the Paul J. Pasciuto Memorial Foundation. The foundation was established to honor Paul Pasciuto, who died at the age of 34 from sudden cardiac arrest.
Since his death, his family and friends have been running golf tournaments to raise money to provide automatic external defibrillators to local school systems and the community.
So far, AEDs have been donated to schools, athletic departments, a town buildings, libraries, a gymnasium club, and a football and cheerleading program in Massachusetts.
