Turn the AED On

After you have determined that a
sudden cardiac arrest has
occurred, turn the unit on.

Press the purple power button
below to turn on the AED Plus
and begin the demo.

Follow Visual and
Voice Prompts

Open the lid on the AED
and start following the
visual and voice prompts.

Check
Responsiveness

Check the responsiveness
of the victim by shaking and
shouting "Are you okay?"

Call for Help

Call 112* or send
someone for help.

*or national emergency number

Open Airway

Lift the victim's chin and tilt
the head back.

Check Breathing

Look for chest rising and falling.
Listen and look for air flow during
exhalation. Look for normal
breating, coughing or
movement.

Attach Electrode
Pads

Press the
CPR-D-padz®
firmly on victim.

Stay Clear
of Victim

Stay clear of the victim
and advise anyone nearby
to do the same.

Follow Audio
Guidance

If prompted, press flashing
shock button.

Administer CPR Until
Help Arrives

If defibrillation is not required,
administer CPR until emergency
medical personnel arrive.

Real CPR Help Begins

Once you begin compressions,
the AED Plus will help time your
rate and advise you if you are
pushing hard enough.
Administer CPR: 2 breaths for
every 30 compressions.

Maintain an
Open Airway

If victim is now breathing,
maintain open airway using
Passive Airway Support System
or "head tilt-chin lift" maneuver.
