ZOLL HEROES FOR LIFE PROGRAM RECOGNIZES
EVERYDAY PEOPLE MAKING A DIFFERENCE WITH ZOLL AEDs

July 17, 2018—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that it is launching a Heroes for Life™ program to honor “unexpected heroes” who have helped save the life of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) victim with a ZOLL AED and recognize SCA survivors.

It takes courage to step in and help when someone’s life is at stake. By acknowledging these rescuers for their heroism and celebrating survivors of sudden cardiac arrest, ZOLL is emphasizing the critical role bystanders play in saving lives through administering CPR and using an AED to restore a normal heart rhythm.

“Our goal is to broaden public awareness of the importance of knowing CPR and how to use an AED,” said Elijah A. White, Vice President of Marketing, ZOLL Resuscitation. “By asking bystanders who helped save the life of an SCA victim, SCA survivors, and professional rescuers to share their stories whenever a ZOLL AED is used, more lives can be saved.”

“As part of our Heroes for Life program, ZOLL will present each SCA survivor with a ZOLL AED Plus® to donate to a charity of their choice,” he added. “ZOLL is committed to helping to save more lives by making AEDs readily available to the public.”

ZOLL is asking SCA survivors and their rescuers to complete the form on   https://heroesforlife.zoll.com whenever a ZOLL AED is used to help save a life and a ZOLL representative will be in touch.

About Sudden Cardiac Arrest

SCA, an abrupt disruption of the heart’s function, which causes a lack of blood flow to vital organs, claims more than 350,000 lives each year in the U.S. It is the leading cause of unexpected death in the world and strikes without warning. Timing is critical to survival. If a victim does not receive CPR and early defibrillation from an AED, chances of survival decrease 10% with each passing minute.
