ZOLL TO SHOWCASE EXPANDED PORTFOLIO OF ADVANCED RESUSCITATION AND ACUTE CRITICAL CARE TECHNOLOGIES AT ARAB HEALTH 2017

January 25, 2017—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that its expanded and fully integrated portfolio of resuscitation and acute critical care technologies and data management solutions will be on display during Arab Health in Booth G19, Hall 1, 30 January–2 February in Dubai. ZOLL’s products are uniquely capable of helping customers achieve the recommendations in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines, which are followed by many countries in this region.

New to ZOLL’s expanding product portfolio are the ZOLL AED 3™ automated external defibrillator* and the ZOLL AED 3 BLS* (basic life support). These AEDs build on ZOLL’s legacy of introducing new technology to the AED market to help improve outcomes for cardiac arrest patients. Enhanced Real CPR Help® gives rescuers the power to know when they are providing high-quality chest compressions. ZOLL has also introduced the world’s first 5-year universal CPR electrode for both adult and pediatric patients, further reducing the cost of ownership. Every ZOLL AED 3 comes with Program Management Onboard™, which can notify users immediately if the device fails a self-test, or if the battery is due to be replaced, ensuring the device is ready to be used.

The ZOLL AED 3 BLS model is designed specifically for the needs of first responders with the CPR Dashboard™ and the ability to deliver the patient record directly to health care providers.

Additional resuscitation solutions from ZOLL on display at Arab Health include:

Comprehensive Portfolio for Pre-hospital Care

ZOLL’s EMS products are designed to maximize care for the everyday situations that rescuers encounter. The small and lightweight X Series® monitor/defibrillator delivers unsurpassed monitoring and includes efficient and reliable solutions for patient data management and debriefing. It also provides system-independent STEMI management and has telemedicine capabilities. The new RapidShock™** functionality is the fastest rhythm analysis in the world, giving the rescuer a shock/no shock decision in as little as 3 seconds.

The ResQCPR™ System is a combination of two medical devices, the CardioPump® ACD-CPR device and the ResQPOD® impedance threshold device (ITD). The devices are used together during CPR to create an enhanced vacuum in the chest that improves blood flow to the brain and vital organs. A large randomized controlled trial showed that the ResQCPR System improved long-term functional survival by 53%.1 The ResQPOD can also be used alone with high-quality CPR to improve outcomes.2

The AutoPulse® Resuscitation System is ZOLL’s automated CPR device. Designed for Resuscitation on the Move™, it delivers high-quality CPR whenever and wherever it’s needed—especially during transport of critically ill patients. In a meta-analysis of 12 comparative clinical trials, the AutoPulse improved the odds of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by 62% when compared to manual CPR.3 Shock Sync** technology on the AutoPulse serves to limit the pauses in CPR and automatically times the shock to maximize the likelihood of shock success.

When used in the hospital, the AutoPulse helps staff achieve a more organized code when resources are constrained on nights and weekends, and in the cardiac catheterization lab it helps to keep staff members safe from radiation.

Resuscitation Solutions for the Hospital Environment

The R Series® monitor/defibrillator includes a CPR Dashboard that provides real-time feedback on compression quality, See-Thru CPR® to reduce the duration of pauses during CPR by filtering out CPR artifact, and EtCO2 to signal the earliest changes in patient condition. Post-event, comprehensive software solutions support continuous quality improvement.

ZOLL’s Intravascular Temperature Management (IVTM™) offers health care providers the precision and control they need to rapidly, safely, and effectively manage the core body temperature of critically ill or surgical patients. The Thermogard XP® delivers accurate, easy-to-use, and cost-effective control for both cooling and warming applications. This temperature management system provides a variety of catheter options depending upon the specific patient needs.

Ventilation Made Easy

The 731 family of portable ventilators offers the ideal solution for environments ranging from the emergency department to military operations, and every care environment in between. They provide a range of therapies to ventilate and support infants (≥5 kg) through adults. Built on a platform designed for mobility, all of ZOLL’s ventilators weigh less than 10 pounds (<4.5 kg) and feature an unprecedented 10-hour battery run-time. When it’s time to recharge, the built-in rapid charger can restore the charge in as little as two hours.
